Lodging

The summer months are the peak tourist season in Northern Michigan, and this is

the busiest time of year for area hotels and campgrounds. Please book early.

Any hotel rooms we have managed to block for the event will go fast. Outside of

our room blocks, many hotels do not begin taking August reservations until

November 1st - January 1st. As an alternative to hotels, you may book state

campground sites starting 6 months from your arrival date. Private campgrounds may take bookings earlier.

Please do not stay on Mackinac island the night before the swim, unless you have your own boat ride to the mainland. No ferries are running early enough to get you to St. Ignace on time for check-in. Do visit the island though. Mackinac Island is incredible!

Mighty Mac Swim Discounted Room Blocks

While it is not customary for properties to offer discounted lodging in the Straits area during the summer, we have managed to block a limited number of hotel rooms at special Mighty Mac rates (rates have various expiration dates). Please call the hotel DIRECTLY (using the phone numbers listed on this page) and mention you are with the Mighty Mac Swim group when making reservations. Our room blocks cover three nights ... Friday, August 7th through Sunday, August 9th. Stays may be extended based on availability. If extending your stay, check with your hotel to see if they will extend your discounted rate. Some will. Make sure you review minimum night stay requirements, cancellation and late check in policies, as they vary from hotel to hotel.
